Chinese auto sales rise 37% on year in June

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) -- New vehicle sales in China jumped 36.5% in June from a year earlier, marking the fourth straight month that vehicle sales have topped 1.1 million units, according to the state-run Xinhua News agency Thursday.

Vehicle sales for the reporting month reached 1.14 million units, bringing cumulative sales for the first half to 6.09 million units, a rise of 17.7% from a the same months a year earlier, the report said, citing the latest data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
