LONDON (MarketWatch) -- U.K. interdealer broker Tullett Prebon /quotes/comstock/23s!e:tlpr (UK:TLPR 344.20, -0.80, -0.23%) said Wednesday that it is in preliminary talks with a third party that could lead to a takeover offer for the company. The group said there is no certainty that an offer will be made and that a further announcement will be made in due course. Shares in the company jumped over 18% on the London Stock Exchange after the announcement.
